Fregata : Human

THE FOOLISHNESS OF MAN
How we perceive ourself as a human being

1. Man is not the most powerful species
The  foolishness of man. It was an unheard of until now, buy we can see it in front of our face. We used to think that we human as a species is the most powerful species. But we have to know that, we can be outperformed by some animals, some creatures that we think are lower than us. For example, some of us can not live a long  life like turtles do, or we just don’t have the ability to regrow our limbs like lizards do. However when we think about just how great we are, the truth is what I suppose more dire than it probably should be. We can also put it on our own perspective. In short, we have to accept that we have flaws.
2. Human’s behavior as we know it
When Charles Darwin created the theory of evolution, he did not just shakes the western world to it’s core, but he also create some more spaces for human to think of themselves. We used to be in comfort by ingesting easy information that are safe and harmless but also won’t cause any debates. But isn’t that how we live today as a society? We produce opinions, and thoughts but we hate it when someone has a different view. Especially if someone can prove that our opinions are wrong, we often hate that person more than his idea. In fact, we still hate it even though his idea just might contain a little bit of truth in itself that we just can not see.
We have to ask ourselves that, why do we hate questions? Why are we not open for debates? Why don’t we have more mannered discussions in our daily lives?  These are just some of retrospective questions that I can think of. However it goes without saying, that through a little thing called curiosity, we create questions. We start it with a sense of wanting to know about some information, or just because we have doubt over something that we just want to prove. We have our own sense of curiosity and with it we can also create our very own investigations or researches to find those information that will be beneficial for us. That is why I can say that without a lot of questions, knowledge will never be born.
3. The human ambitions
Who, in their right minds, that doesn’t have any ambitions at all? I think we all have it in some way or another. I believe that we all try to pursue something that contains some sort of meaning to us. I think that is why we set our goals and we just want to achieve it with our own ways. We still do it with various plans be it right or wrong as long as it will take us to our destination. This is also why that we can see around us people who are just plain greedy, selfish, people whose ability to think about others are almost extinct. There are also people who prioritize themselves in order to get what they want. Their ambitions had corrupted their minds and moral judgement and it controls people to pursue their goals with any way whatsoever.
4 Judgement mentality
We judge people on our daily basis. We have to accept that as a fact because no matter how much we tell to ourselves that we don’t or shouldn’t judge people, we will still do it. There are many reasons to it that are just too much to tell but we should know several things. When we interact with people who are different than us, we often thought about how we could probably be better than that person based on our differences. For a short example, people with more skill in a field would underestimate those whose skill are lower than them. This is wrong because those more skilled people just might have more experience than those with lower skill.
This is our mentality, and it’s called judgement mentality. We have a mindset to judge people whether we do it consciously or not. It’s been settled in our mind since we were at a very young age. It has been said that we comfort ourselves by thinking that some people are worth lesser than us. We tell to ourselves that we are basically better than that person. This is where the problem comes in. If we keep on seeing the flaws of others around us, we cannot possibly see our own. This mentality is what I think to be the problem of our society.
